High
Royds Mental Ayslum - Menston, West Yorkshire |
Massive
old asylum in the small village of Menston. One of the biggest
asylums in the UK, and at one time considered the best aswell.
Closed Feburary 2003, used as a film set for "The Royal"
(ITV) and "Bodies" (BBC 3). Plans have been submitted
to turn the site into its own village. Visited in April 2005 |

North
Wales Hospital - Denbeigh, North Wales |
One
of the oldest derelict asylums in the UK, built in 1842 this hospital
held the most patients in Wales and was equal to any hospital
in England. Closed in 1995, the site seems to be heading towards
re-development in the form of a retail park. Visited in May 2005. |

Queensferry
Farm - Queensferry, nr Chester |
Small
farm on the Welsh/English border next to a busy duel carridgeway.
Derelict for close to 15 years, this farm has often appealed to
me to explore. After being frustrated in gaining access to Crossley
one weekend, i drove a few miles to explore it. Visited in March
